Racing: Christian de Lorenzi (ITA) and Andriy Deryzemlya (UKR) make the podium in Khanty Mansiysk (RUS)
Christian de Lorenzi (ITA, Fischer skis and poles) and Andriy Deryzemlya (UKR, Fischer skis and boots) only had to accept defeat to Ivan Tcherezov (RUS) in the Sprint in Khanty Mansiysk (RUS).
Christian de Lorenzi shot flawlessly and crossed the finishline in second place just 13.8 seconds back. The 29-year old Italian thus repeated his best World Cup result so far and was really satisfied: "He (Ivan Tcherezov) was the better man today. But I am very happy to finish in second.”
Andriy Deryzemlya had to go for one penalty loop after the prone shooting and finished in third place with just 2.9 seconds behind de Lorenzi. Thus the Ukrainian had his best result this season.
The three German Fischer athletes Arnd Peiffer (GER, Fischer), Simon Schempp (GER, Fischer) and Andreas Birnbacher (GER, Fischer) in sixth, seventh and ninth place respectively likewise made the top ten as well as Björn Ferry (SWE, Fischer skis and boots) in tenth place.
